The school management advised on the kind of Kitchen needed for the school and through KAP, it requested for funds to finance the Kitchen project. AT the end of January 2024, the Uganda Examinations Board released the Primary Leaving Examination and according to the results St. Benedict 2023 candidates performance improved compared to the previous years. For example 10% passed with first grade, 85% with second grade, 5% third grade, 0% third grade and 0% failure.The performance and school developments led to the rise of pupils from 400 to 430 pupils.

The Mobile money service project continues to be the most active KAP IGAs and has continually financed KAP’S Administration costs. For security reasons, a glass was installed at the counter and here a small place is left to allow the MMS attendant to exchange money and any required documentation with the clients.

Schools were identified by KAP members living in Kyamulibwa Village. Meetings with schools` administrations were held and the project was well received by all the schools. Letters confirming the date of execution were sent to the schools on 1st April 2022.

The project started on 1st May, 2019. The construction work is done by a professional contractor; BAM Building Construction with support from the school parents and community members. The construction is supervised by a professional Engineer who ensures the work is done in accordance with the BoQs (Bills of Quantities). The Engineer is supported by the KAP management, KAP Education projects committee and the school building committee. The Engineer makes a report for the performance of the project and recommends for the next phase

The overall objective of this project is to improve households’ nutrition needs, income and overall standards of living. To support 60 households of old people’s standard of living through training of organic piggery by the 2nd month of the project. To promote organic farming through the use of basics of animal rearing and crop growing by the 12th month of the project. To equip at least 25 households of old people with piglets by the 11th month of the project

After KAP Health Committee identifying the 60 beneficiaries/households, KAP Health Committee organized a 2 (two) days training workshop both theoretical & practical in order to equip the beneficiaries with skills related to raising pigs organically, construct pig sties, collect manure for organic fertilizers and how they can utilize the piggery project to improve their standards of living.

Goal: The overall objective of this project is to create a hunger free community with improved health and standards of living.The Beneficiaries have started harvesting and sold some surplus vegetables and thus adding to the income of the families. Some beneficiaries use the income from the small vegetables for their co-saving. They have also started to practice the system of crop rotation. The beneficiaries have improved on growing of the indigenous foods by applying the organic fertilizers. The beneficiaries have also learned the techniques of fighting against the crop pests and insects.

Every Monday of the week, KAP staffs go to Kyamulibwa Health Centre III to give health talks and HIV/AIDS counseling services to patients at this health center. This time it was not possible because the program was interrupted by the student nurses who were busy with their nursing practice in the same place at the same time.

How the sustainability of the project is being assured (financially/actual effect) Financially; the kind of trees planted in the model farm bear fruits and such fruits include; coffee, mangoes, avocado, oranges and passion fruits. Currently, KAP is able to harvest passion fruits and sell them for an income. Such income generated supports the maintenance of the model farm and the ongoing monitoring of the project.

One of the KAP’s values is “Fair Treatment & Empowerment” With that, KAP then decided to start a project related to the challenges faced by the girls/female youths in order to reduce their redundancy, obtain one on one free talks, better interactions and above all empower them to live better lives.
